Corona, CA: Fall Art Walk at Dos Lagos

With the rich colors of autumn starting to arrive it’s the perfect time to admire some of the impressive work from artists in our Fall Art Walk.
The exhibit will be presented by the Riverside Arts Council and will be taking place outdoors at The Shops at Dos Lagos on October 27. From 4-8 pm you can walk through and get some fresh air while viewing the art work and have your chance to purchase your favorite pieces. Also, make time for some family fun with free festive hay rides from 3-5 pm.

Corona, CA: Saleen Open House & Car Show Sept 15th
If you live in southern California or neighboring states you already know the annual Saleen Open House and Car Show is one of the main events of the year. The show is held at Saleen Headquarters in Corona, CA on Saturday, September 15th.
Being billed as the largest gathering of Saleens in the world, the show is open to not only Saleen vehicles but includes classes for other Mustangs, Fords as well as Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge and Challenger models to boot.
The show will have more than thirty separate judged classes for Saleen and SMS vehicles however, including this year expanded classes for the 2005-2009 S-Series Mustangs. And for those who aren’t looking for their cars to be judged, there will be a special display only class, encouraging people to bring their daily drivers and fixer-uppers.
Corona, CA: (Still Time) Homes for Our Troops to Host Two-Day Build Brigade to Start New Home in Corona for Severely Injured Veteran

Homes for Our Troops (www.homesforourtroops.org), a national non-profit organization dedicated to building specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans, will hold a two-day Build Brigade in Corona, CA on August 24-25, to begin construction of a home for Army Sergeant David Mayer.
The Build Brigade begins with a ceremony Friday, August 24 at 8:30 a.m. Following the opening event, the veteran and family members, HFOT representatives, and selected invited guests will work together to raise the home’s first wall. The goal of the two-day build is to frame, side, and roof the house and install windows and doors. Interior and finishing work will be completed in the following months. The home will provide Mayer with maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently.

Corona, CA: 4th of July Celebration in Corona

The 4th of July Celebration begins with the “Main Street U.S.A. Parade” on July 4th at 10:00 a.m. The parade starts at Ontario and Main Streets, travels down Main and concludes at Olive Street. Over 75 entries are expected to participate in this year’s parade.
The Celebration resumes at 4:00 p.m. beginning with a Family Festival at Santana Park. The activities at the Festival will include food booths, children’s “Fun Zone” and entertainment featuring bands, Bob Gulley and his All-Star Friends. The formal program starts at 8:30 p.m., with a special tribute to the Blue Star Mothers. The event will end with a spectacular fireworks show. Entrance is FREE!
Corona, CA: Veterans memorial groundbreaking set
After years of trying to find funding, Corona is hosting a groundbreaking for a memorial honoring local veterans.
The event will feature the start of construction of the Veterans Memorial Project. It is scheduled for 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the south courtyard of Corona City Hall, 400 S. Vicentia Ave., Corona.

Author Monica Holloway speaks and signs at the Corona Public Library June 9, Saturday, 2-3.30pm.
Holloway is the best-selling and critically acclaimed author of Cowboy & Wills and Driving with Dead People. She is also active in raising awareness on autism and literacy, and serves on the advisory boards of Special Needs Network and National Center for Family Literacy.
Corona, CA: Old World Festival Begins Saturday in Corona
Beginning this weekend, a Corona park will be transformed into a medieval village, complete with knight jousting, pirate fights, archery competitions, magic shows and other fare meant to give visitors to the Koroneburg Old World Renaissance Festival an authentic taste of life in the 15th century.
"To commemorate our 15th anniversary, we are revamping and re- energizing the festival with more authentic period re-enactments, entertainment and activities representative of the era, (with) hundreds of vividly costumed, always-in-character performers, craftspeople and vendors interacting with our guests," said festival cofounder Tom Wilson.

Corona, CA: ART SHOW WILL AWARD $5,000 IN PRIZES

Southern California artists may submit up to three entries on May 11 or May 12 from 11 am to 4 pm at The Shops at Dos Lagos, located at 2780 Cabot Drive in Corona for the second Summer Arts at Dos Lagos Juried Art Show. Bring entries with completed entry form to the Summer Arts at Dos Lagos Gallery, which will be located near Anthropologie and Z Gallerie.
Artists will appreciate the unique entry incentive because each entrant will receive a Dos Lagos gift card valued for the entire paid fee. The artist can spend the gift card for purchases at any store or restaurant at the center. The fee is $20 for the first artwork entry and $15 for each additional entry up to a maximum of three entries per artist.

America's first show choir and glee club, The Young Americans, a non-profit music education and performance group, will celebrate its 50thanniversary this week at The Young Americans' headquarters in Corona, CA. The week- long celebrations will culminate with an inspiring Broadway-like show, "Celebrate 50," featuring performances by alumni members and the current cast of The Young Americans at the Riverside Convention Center, April 15that 4:30pm.
