Corona, CA: Foothill Parkway extension project delayed


In an effort to push a much-delayed Corona road extension project forward, city officials may temporarily downsize it.

Corona planning officials are in the final stages this month of acquiring land for the 2-mile Foothill Parkway extension project that would connect Skyline Drive and Paseo Grande from south Corona to Sierra del Oro.

The project has been envisioned since the mid-1980s, but has been postponed repeatedly because of a lack of funding.

Irene Fidemjor, 58, was reported missing hours before her body was discovered in a dirt lot in Corona, CA.

Irene Fidemjor lived in the County Hills Apartments in the 1500 block of Plaza de Noche, police said in a news release. Family members had filed a missing person report with police earlier that morning.

The investigation into her disappearance and death continue.


Corona, CA: Woman's body dumped in field triggers homicide probe


Homicide detectives are investigating the apparent slaying of a woman in her 50s whose body was found in a field Monday in a newly incorporated area of Corona just west of Interstate 15, city police say.

"We had a passerby that had seen the body on the side of the road," Sgt. Kim Velasco said about 9 a.m. today. "It was in some bushes."

The discovery was reported at 10:38 a.m. Monday along Foothill Parkway, about 100 feet east of Starne Road. The victim was wearing pants and a shirt. There were no obvious signs of trauma, though the body appeared to have been dumped there, Velasco said.

No arrests have been made.

Investigators have determined the victim's identity but have not released her name.

Detectives plan to reveal more information about noon, Velasco said. Riverside County coroner's officials have released no information about the victim or the incident.

Corona, CA: Woman's Body Found Hidden in Brush Along I-15 in Corona


The cause of death is under investigation.

Police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body along Interstate 15 in Corona.

A driver spotted the body hidden under a pile of brush behind Foothill Parkway just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A neighbor tells KTLA he saw blue clothing and a "white belly" on the body.

The victim's identity has not been released.

A cause of death is under investigation.

Corona, CA: Body found in Corona; investigation under way




Police are investigating after a body was found in Corona on Monday afternoon. The body has not yet been identified.

Authorities responded to the 2800 block of Foothill Parkway at 10:38 a.m. after someone reported possibly seeing a body off to the side of the roadway.

When officers arrived, they found the body. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
