Corona, CA: Occupy Riverside Home Foreclosure Action Committee interruptes the foreclosure auction

Occupy Riverside Home Foreclosure Action Committee interruptes the foreclosure auction of the Menifee home of Darlene Scott on Friday, April 13th at 9:00 am at 849 West 6th Street, Corona CA.

From Occupy Riverside Home Foreclosure Action Committee:

"Darlene Scott, like many Americans, is having her home stolen by Wells Fargo. Darlene put a $30,000 dollar down payment (and paid the loan fees) on her home in 2003. She, like many, qualified for a standard mortgage but was steered, by SIB Mortgage Corp., into an ARM loan because the originators made more commission on the ARMs. SIB Mortgage Corp., a division of Lehman Brothers, then sold her loan into the ether of the mortgage backed securities market using Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc. (MERS). MERS was being sued by 49 states attorneys general because they found probable cause that their robo-signing scheme resulted in the filing of fraudulent documents. Last November, however, a settlement where the nation's five largest servicers get to pay a small fine ($25 billion) and keep the deeds was reached with the blessing of our corporately-owned political leaders. Now EMC, a Chase Bank shell operation, is going to try and sell her home at auction as if they somehow own it.

Now, along with the wasted tax money given to Banks in the TARP, wasted tax money on the states' attorneys general salaries, the salaries of the corporate stooges who parade around as some sort of theater of the absurd representatives and a $30,000 down payment, Darlene Scott is going to also lose her home. This must stop now."
