Corona, CA: Arrest in 2009 road-rage shooting death

Police have arrested a man for the road-rage shooting death of a Southern California motorist in 2009.

Corona police Chief Michael Abel says in a news release that 27-year-old Carlos Vasquez Reynaga was arrested on Monday. He has been charged with murder.

New leads led to the arrest of Reynaga, who was already in a Riverside County jail on an unrelated narcotics charge.

Investigators say 34-year-old Ignacio Duarte Jr. was behind the wheel of a sport utility vehicle when he was shot on Nov. 24, 2009. His SUV crashed into a Best Western Hotel.

Investigators say the men were apparently involved in a road rage incident on the State Route 91 and Reynaga followed the Duarte's SUV onto city streets.

There are no details about the road rage encounter.
