Fresno City College President Cynthia Azari is leaving to take the top job at Riverside City College.
The State Center Community College District board of trustees is expected to discuss the presidential search at its meeting Thursday. Azari's resignation is effective March 31.
Azari took office at Fresno City College in January 2009.
State Center officials said she has expressed an interest to be closer to family in Southern California.
In a news release from the Riverside Community College District, Azari said she was honored to take the president's job starting April 1.
