Seminar will educate homeowners on how to avoid foreclosure
The Inland Gateway Association of REALTORSÒ, (TIGAR), in conjunction with Department of Housing and Urban Development, (HUD), the County of Riverside , and the Neighborhood Housing Services of the Inland Empire , will host a special Inland Empire Foreclosure Prevention Event. The seminar is a no-cost event. Homeowners will learn the extent of their rights, how to avoid foreclosure frauds and scams and be empowered to make educated decisions to avoid foreclosure. Homeowners will also have the opportunity to confidentially discuss their housing situation with trained and licensed credit counselors.
With falling house prices and continuing signs of rising foreclosure rates looming over the housing market in Riverside County , many concerned homeowners don't know where to turn for answers. Local REALTORSÒ and other housing marketing professionals are taking the initiative to bring relevant and useful information to homeowners who have questions about the foreclosure market and how it affects them.
"Foreclosures hurt us all," said Diane West, foreclosure event coordinator and senior real estate specialist at Re/Max All Stars in Corona . "Homeowners suffer; neighbors suffer and the economy suffers. As professionals in the real estate industry, we have a social obligation to keep people in their homes if possible. This event can help change the direction of the foreclosure tide."
