Green Valley Earth Festival to draw more than 8,000


A community drum circle, kite demonstrations, green career fair, plein air artists and solar car races to complement more than 100 earth-friendly exhibitors and vendors.

Saturday, April 19 could set a record-breaking moment for Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Drummers from throughout Southern California will join forces with festival goers in a record-breaking attempt at creating the largest Earth Day Drum Circle ever in the Inland Empire.

Other activities include (see attached program sheet for details):
• Professional kite fliers AKA Kites, performing stunts throughout the day and providing lessons to those interested in learning more.
• A green career fair will feature environmentally sound employers.
• Area dealerships will display alternative fuel vehicles
• Youth groups will provide information and activities to encourage healthy living and healthy relationships.
• Winning students will deliver their speeches from a Friends of RCC Forensics “Save the Earth” oratory contest.
• CAT will perform a green-themed musical performance.
• Children from area Boys & Girls Clubs will race model solar cars in a Solar Green Prix.
• Yoga and martial arts demonstrations will take place throughout the day.
• Visitors will have the chance to learn about photovoltaic power, make crafts from recycled materials and learn about the many ways so many people are helping to preserve and protect the environment.

WHAT: More than 100 informational and activity booths, live entertainment, great food, alternative energy displays and more!
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 19
WHERE: Dos Lagos, at Dos Lagos Drive and Interstate 15 in Corona
WHY: Learn about emerging green technologies and conservation efforts in the region, watch area student competitions, enjoy good food, music and have fun with the family.
