A Riverside police officer was involved in a shooting early Tuesday morning, according to the Riverside Police Department.
An officer in a marked police unit attempted to pull over a vehicle in the Casa Blanca area of Riverside. Despite activated police lights and siren, the vehicle did not stop.
The officer pursued the vehicle. A police pursuit lasted about two minutes, according to the department.
A passenger in the suspect vehicle exited it near Bunker and Diamond. The pursuing officer chased the suspect on foot, and an officer-involved shooting occurred, according to the department.
No one was injured in the shooting.
The suspect was arrested at a nearby residence, according to the department.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene, according to police and the driver was still at large Tuesday afternoon.
Robbery/Homicide detectives determined the arrested suspect, 23-year-old Riverside resident Daniel Moya, was in violation of parole and was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Moya was arrested for violation of parole, being under the influence of a dangerous drug and resisting arrest. He was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
The investigation was ongoing.
