Corona, CA: Corona Driver now faces DUI charges

A West Greenwich woman was killed over the weekend in a car crash in Malibu, California.

Police tell the Ventura County Star that 22-year-old Victoria Alviti was a passenger in an SUV that fell 400 feet from a cliff early Sunday morning. Rescue crews pulled two other people from the wreckage, but Alviti was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver, Stephen Shanks, 29, of Corona, California was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence. He and another passenger continue to recover from injuries they suffered in the crash.
