Conference will address possible future infrastructure investments
WHAT: The Urban Land Institute Inland Empire will host “Infrastructure Inland Empire 2008: A Competitive Advantage,” to examine the results of ULI’s annual infrastructure report.
Keynote speaker, Maureen McAvey will address the importance of developing infrastructure, including railroads, water and freight, to a city’s or county’s economic competitiveness. She will also evaluate investment and funding issues and share her knowledge of creating public/private financial structures.
Infrastructure 2008: A Competitive Advantage is an annual report by Urban Land Institute and Ernst & Young that provides a snapshot of the current and planned infrastructure investments across the globe. All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the report.
WHY: The success of a city or county to attract business and real estate development weighs heavily on the quality of its infrastructure. To compete in the national market, much of the existing infrastructure in the Inland Empire will need to be repaired or more developed. This conference will help determine how it could be done and what investment decisions can be made.

McAvey has more than 30 years of experience in real estate development, consulting and public/private financial partnerships. Prior to her work with ULI, McAvey was the director of business development for Federal Realty Investment Trust.
