Corona, CA: It’s about time we discover the innovative Luna Modern Kitchen

While the IE has scads of taco stands and fast food places where one can find tasty and interesting Mexican cooking, there’s a glaring lack of a creative and modern Mexican restaurant doing great things with the cuisine in a hip and fun setting . . . until now, that is. Luna Modern Mexican Kitchen in Corona is that Mexican restaurant we IE denizens have been looking for but it’s even more. Luna is one of the 10 best restaurants in the Inland Empire itself.

Opened by owner Francisco Perez 14 months ago, Luna was a revelation when I walked in. And an embarrassment. Why had it taken me so long to get here? The space is intimate without feeling small; there’s a glass tower filled with boutique tequilas—it’s groovy though, not clichéd. Service is attentive, thoughtful, and genuine, although servers do tend to hover near your plates towards the end of the meal—but no huge deal. A diner at Luna feels special and cared for.

Corona, CA: Blogger takes on 'Quality' Toyota

"Well, it's been 6 months now since I bought a leftover 2011 Prius GenIII in early February 2012 from Quality Toyota in Corona CA, right on 6th St. My buying experience with them would've been a distance, unpleasant memory now, that is until I got a email from J.D. Power soliciting a survey of my buying experience with them. Well, Bud Gordon (dealership owner), you're not going to like what you're about to read, or actually be shared. Sorry.

Car dealerships generally are muttered as a four letter word, with a bad name and reputation as how consumers view them. Quality Toyota surely lives up to those negative reputations in full. Most car shoppers just "strolling on in for a look" without doing their homework first will definitely be taken advantage of by the sales folks here. No mercy, be it teenagers, seniors, grandmas or babies:

Corona, CA: Following the Music

The music scene in California is not just clubs and bars. There is something for everyone. Maybe you are not into the club/bar night out. Maybe you have children and need family friendly events. Maybe you just want a change and want to see a live show. I will introduce you to some alternatives to the typical bar and club scene.

If you are a parent, have an interest in kids in music, or just want a change of scenery, a great venue is the Fender Center and Museum in Corona, California. Recently it held a showcase featuring all six of the Kids Rock Free bands for the price of $10 for adults, $5 for kids. Kids in the band are part of the Kids Rock Free program. The bands included the Drum Line (new to Kids Rock Free), Deadline, Unbroken, The Cutting Edge, The Igniters, and The Fender Benders. The most recent event showcased the talent of all the bands but it was a bitter sweet event because some of the kids were aging out. That means by age 18 they are too old for the Kids Rock Free Program. The program offers free and low cost lessons to families and kids age 7 to 17. Class choices include drums, bass, guitar, vocals, and more. The kids that get involved learn from top notch teachers and also get to do gigs with huge talents such as Paul Rodgers and other famous people. Friends, family, and the community are invited to the Fender Center for events that the kids perform in and other events that are adult only shows. The venue, when hosting an event, usually has food and beverage service to go with the shows. The Rhythm Lounge inside the venue is spacious and intimate. The lighting and sound is always top notch. The outside venue, the Steve Miller TLC Amphitheater, is used for larger events.

Lawsuit » Utah company wanted to halt recruiting messages for rival business.

A federal judge on Wednesday turned down Utah-based MonaVie’s request for an emergency order prohibiting a former top distributor from posting information on Facebook about the new multilevel marketing company he has joined.

U.S. District Judge Clark Waddoups ruled at the end of a 4½ hour hearing that MonaVie of South Jordan had failed to show that Joseph Licciardi had likely violated policies of the company, which markets a nutritional fruit juice and weight-loss products to a network of independent distributors. Distributors earn commissions according to the number of others they bring into the company.

Licciardi of Corona, Calif., had been a "black diamond," one of 30 very top distributors, earning commissions of more than $4.4 million in his five years with the company, according to testimony in a lawsuit filed by MonaVie.
