I agree we should be informed if any foul play was involved. I have a daughter and we will be out on Halloween, but I am concerned about our safety they should at least keep the local residence informed, I live in the area just down the hill from that park. The family of the lost man will be in my prayers. – Ron Corona, CA

My property butts up to the park. The city just let the park go to hell. Now look what we have. The gangs and druggies have taken over. Graffiti broken glass. This is a shame. The citizens of Corona deserve better. Clean the park up and patrol it. - concerned Monterey Park, CA

I'm really sorry to hear of this, as I am moving to the area next month. Can anyone tell me where not to live? Where is this park located, and what apartment complexes are safe? How is Waterstone, Marquessa or Deerwood? I'm tranferring from Chicago and working in Ontario and sometimes in Poway. I thought along 15 was ok south of Magnolia, but how is north of 91 along hwy 15? Thanks. Any help would be appreciated. - Moving to the area Orland Park, IL

That man and his family will be in my prayers. Unfortunately, anything goes in Corona.. The lost youth run this town. Nothing but drugs and illegal activities. No good has come from our city in many many years. I'm born and raised in Corona. I can't wait to escape here. I am a young female I do not go anywhere alone. The system failed me while in school with a predator that almost took my life. Later, it failed my entire family. With a murder we suffered.. No justice or closure was brought to our family. Please beware of your surroundings, plan to keep safe and never lose sight of your children. – Bee United States

We just moved here about two months ago, right around the corner from this park. This past tues our home was broken into and now this! We need more info, please! - New resident Riverside, CA

Sunday Oct 30

The Corona City Council gave up on Griffin Park a few years back deliberately letting it fall into extreme disrepair. The park is now a ghetto embarrassment impacting property values. The city said they had no money for parks, but expanded other parks in the city. Complaints fell on deaf ears.

While police have not said if it was a transient death of natural causes, or a homicide, they dedicated dozens of police employees to securing the scene and the preliminary investigation at huge expense. It appeared that they are investigating a murder.

The surrounding area residents are outraged at the city letting the park turn into a no mans land. I'm a homeowner in Corona since 95, and I seriously am thinking of moving out of Corona.

Perhaps the unfortunate death of a human being is what is needed to get the city council to act. - Enraged citizen Corona, CA

Get real? I hope your cousin isn't brutally stabbed to death and left to die. If you have a daughter, I hope she isn't stalked and threatened to be brutally murdered because someone is infatuated by her. That's putting it simple. Get real? Stop crying? Tell the family members of the 3 bodies that were found this year to stop crying. How dare you. If your family is every struck with murder or threatened. Member your words and don't shed a tear. – Bee United States

We dont go to that park to walk cause all you see all the broken alcohol bottles everywhere, graffiti, etc. I first thought it was the homeless guy that we used to see often go up and down Griffin. But the CPD was there for some time and hours later a helicopter was buzzing around.
I agree CPD should issue some kind of statement. Its been almost a week. They must think if they wait long enough we'll forget.
To "new resident" I hate to say this but after we moved in a few yrs ago CPD came to my door to asking to take pics of our side window. Apparently some one had got caught by the previous owner trying to break in. Lock your doors and windows.
Lastly our alarm went off one day and the CPD was asked to respond. They never came but they sent us a bill for a false alarm. I'm just grateful I have good neighbors.

I use to live next to this park. I moved in 2005. In 2002-2003 we began seeing problems in the park. Graffiti, condoms, fights, etc. It was minor, but it was the start. I went to the City of Corona and begged them to do something. I WARNED them that this was the start, and worse would follow. We organized a neighborhood watch and finally the city began locking the gates at night. But the liberal, dont-violate-my-rights groups overturned that stating the park was for all at anytime. I am not surprised. I'm just glad I moved before it happened. Now Griffin Park is the cesspool that I predicted it would be 10 years ago. Wonder where all the liberal do-gooders are now. Most likely "occupying" some other park!
