ANNUAL FOREST VOLUNTEER TRAINING

The Trabuco Ranger District, Cleveland National Forest, will host their Annual Training Workshop on Saturday, February 9, 2008 for district volunteers and interested public.

All Trabuco Ranger District forest volunteers are required to attend. Bring your Volunteer Handbook with you!

Registration and networking begin at 8AM. Training sessions begin promptly at 8:30 AM.

Training will include an overview of volunteer opportunities and accomplishments, updates on the district and forest conditions, are view of contact procedures, safety and hazard analysis process,fire safety, resource reporting and mapping, road and trail patrols and maintenance planning, training opportunities, and volunteer scheduling.

Eric Blehm, author of The Last Season, will be our keynote speaker. Donna Krucki, a specialist on mountain lions will lecture on the local mountain lion population and what to watch for after the fire. Agency staff will also make presentations.

The training will be held in Chino Hills at the Antimite Headquarters. Take the 91 freeway to the 71 North. The facility isoff the second exit – 5867 Pine Avenue on the west side of the 71. Take the first left turn into the parking lot and drive around to the Antimite building. Plenty of parking. Please bring a lunch or a dishto share. Kitchen facilities are available. The lunch break is only 30 minutes so that we can end the day by 3PM.
