Corona, CA: NEW DOS LAGOS TEEN AMBASSADORS

Outstanding Students Represent Six Riverside County High Schools

The 12 new Dos Lagos Teen Ambassadors selected at The Shops at Dos Lagos last week are positive role models for their peers. The teens will serve a one year term to represent their schools in community and special event programs at The Shops at Dos Lagos, located on Temescal Canyon Road between Weirick Road and Cajalco Road, just off the I-15 in Corona.

Congratulations to the 2012-13 Dos Lagos Teen Ambassadors from Centennial High School, Alexander Longazo; Corona High School, Kenna Vecchiarelli; Norco High School, Devki Bhatt, Connor Russell, and Dominique Sanders; John W. North High School, Tiffany Howard; Riverside Poly, Makenna Lammons; Santiago High School, Jacob Collins, Alexandra Diaz, Gabby Gonta, Megan Wilkinson and Montana Sudul. The nine females and three males will be Juniors or Seniors during the next school year. They will gain business, community service, communication and marketing skills, be paid as special event hosts, and have the opportunity to promote school programs at the shopping center.

More than 75 teens applied for the Dos Lagos Teen Ambassador program with 33 selected as finalists. The finalists each received a free $25 Dos Lagos gift card on May 3 to shop for items which reflected their personality, interests and style before they went on stage to present their purchases to the judges and a cheering audience.

A selection panel had the challenging role to select just 12 Dos Lagos Teen Ambassadors from the finalists, who are all student leaders at their high schools. The selection panelists included Donna Green, Palm Desert, education professor at College of the Desert; Michele Mason, San Diego, a former southern California mall marketing director and executive director of the San Diego Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; and Gunner Eisenberg, Corona, an entrepreneur who is the owner of the Rebel store at The Shops at Dos Lagos.

The current Dos Lagos Teen Ambassadors were honored during the finals with a Certificate for Outstanding Service presented by State Assemblyman Jeff Miller, and a thank you gift from The Shops at Dos Lagos. Jenny Shin, a senior at Centennial High School who will attend UC Berkley in the Fall, spoke to the audience about the unique opportunities she enjoyed while serving as a Dos Lagos Teen Ambassador.
