Yard House Restaurants Debuts New Neighborhood Concept in Chino Hills, California

Yard House Bar & Grill Is the "Little Sister" of Original Award-Winning Restaurant

Yard House Bar & Grill, an innovative concept from Yard House Restaurants, made its debut on Father's Day in Chino Hills, California. CHINO HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - June 16, 2008) - It was a happy Father's Day in Southern California yesterday with the opening of the new Yard House Bar & Grill at the new Shoppes at Chino Hills. Yard House Restaurants, which launched its first eatery along the Long Beach waterfront south of Los Angeles in 1996, introduced its new innovative concept yesterday when it opened its doors at 11am. First year sales are expected to reach $4.8 million.

Yard House Bar & Grill, a "little sister" of the original concept, features a more streamlined menu and beer selection. Instead of the 100-plus items and 100 to 250 beers on tap at Yard House, the new bar and grill will offer 65 of the most popular menu items with 50 taps circling the bar. Like the original concept, Yard House Bar & Grill has a full bar where guests can order signature martinis, wine by the bottle or glass, and an array of spirits.

"Unlike Yard House, which is more of a destination restaurant because of its sheer size and, often times, location, Yard House Bar & Grill caters to smaller communities and is in essence part of the neighborhood landscape," said Steele Platt, founder and CEO of the company. "Chino Hills, a growing suburb east of Los Angeles, lends itself well to the idea. The experience at Yard House Bar & Grill will be similar to the Yard House experience, a place to go for lunch with friends, take the family to dinner, or grab a beer during Happy Hour with co-workers at the end of the day."

Platt went on to say that if the Yard House Bar & Grill prototype is a success in Chino Hills, its test market, plans may include branding the concept much the same way as Yard House has been branded during the last decade only in smaller demographic markets.

Open for lunch, happy hour, dinner and late night dining -- Yard House Bar & Grill will be familiar to Yard House devotees with its signature island bar, original abstract artwork, large booths, a backdrop of 50-inch HD plasmas, and a high end sound system playing hand selected classic rock songs. The restaurant also features a rotisserie oven, something the original Yard House restaurants do not currently offer. The new restaurant spans 6,500 square feet and has a guest capacity of about 290 people.

Yard House Bar & Grill is located at 13881 Peyton Drive at the Shops at Chino Hills, part of Chino Hills Marketplace, a suburban community east of Los Angeles. The restaurant is opens daily at 11am. For information, call 909.631.2200 or visit online at www.yardhouse.com.
